Education, the mightier weapon
PricewaterhouseCoopers Argentina offers an annual education award to recognise the positive impact educational institutions have on the children they teach and the communities they serve.
Now in its fourth year, the awards are given to schools that can demonstrate how what they teach in the classroom benefits the local community.
PwC is convinced the best way of achieving equality is through education, and that growing up must go hand-in-hand with social awareness. Success comes from teamwork and that’s why this award was developed: to honor education as a means to improve the condition of society.
Award winners receive a cash prize to reinvest in their social education projects, as well as a year of assistance from PwC volunteers and training from CLAYSS (Latin American Center for Service Learning).
“It is almost impossible to define the scope and number of people who benefit from educational programmes, especially with these projects that encourage replication,” says Senior Partner Diego Etchepare.
“We are confident of the multiplying effect of these projects and the virtuous circle which is created.”
Carolina Ares, responsible for the programme, adds: “this programme has undoubtedly added quality to the lives of those participating at PricewaterhouseCoopers. It enriches us both as people and as a work team.”
