Since 1927, students and host families all over the world have been given the opportunity to broaden their horizons and enrich their lives by the generosity of the Rotary's Youth Exchange Program. Administered by Rotary clubs, districts and multidistrict groups, the program today involves more than 82 countires and over 8,000 students each year.
For the past 30 years, Bermuda has been an active member in this program, sending over 200 students overseas for a year of a lifetime and hosting 100 foreign students in Bermuda in exchange. Students have been fortunate to spend a year in countiers such as South Africa, Japan, Chile, Mexico, France, Argentina, Bolivia, Venezuela, and Bermuda has hosted students from countires such as Turkey, Belgium, Taiwan, Krygystan, Finland and Ecuador, just to name a few.
The aim of this developmental program is to expand the horizons of young Bermudians and expose them to the world and wider educational opportunities.
PricewaterhouseCoopers Bermuda
PricewaterhouseCoopers Bermuda employs over 240 people and is an integral part of a global organisation of more than 140, 000 people in over 149 countires. With both a global and local outlook, we value the diverse talents and insights of our people. Promoting education and individual growth is one of the important ways we can enhance their career development and, over time, improve our business performance.
With this in mind, PricewaterhouseCoopers has sponsored the International Rotary Student Exchange Program in Bermuda, which, through experiences gained overseas, provides students with the opportunity to acquire new perspectives on their career aspirations and possible contributions to the island.
PricewaterhouseCoopers also welcomes the overseas Rotary Exchange students to Bermuda. We hope that they too will receive the same opportunity to experience a different culture, and, in some cases, language, and that it will assist them in defining their future goals. We also believe in the benefits that Bermuda's broader community may gain in absorbing and embracing visitors and cultures from overseas.
We look forward to hearing about the experiences of the Bermuda students who are venturing abroad this year, and to welcoming the young people who will be joining us as incoming Rotary Exchange Students in 2007/08. Please check back soon to this page to view their stories!
