PwC in the Community

"Hands-on community help"

PwC in the Community is all about getting out there, getting our hands dirty and making a difference in a practical and tangible way by volunteering our time. In FY08, 51% of our people contributed 18,885 volunteering hours to 387 volunteering activities.

PwC in the Community provides our people with the opportunity to spend one work day each year involved in hands-on, team-based volunteering, where they assist community organisations that support people in need. These volunteering activities are aligned with the overall objectives and focus of the Foundation.

Since the commencement of the PwC Foundation, over 1,000 activities have been completed, contributing over 75,000 volunteering hours assisting charities in activities such as:

  • Hosting themed BBQs for the homeless in Sydney & Melbourne
  • Tree planting & revegetation activities across Australia for Landcare
