Jay Mattie currently serves as the US Clients Leader for the Private Company Services (PCS) practice. He is responsible for building relationships with large private companies across the US. Jay previously served as the US Assurance Leader for the PCS practice for 8 years, where direct responsibility for approximately 100 partners and 1000 assurance professionals dedicated to serving private companies and their owners. He was also a member of the Firm's US Assurance Leadership team during that time. He continues to be based in Boston and serves several important clients in the Northeast market.

During his tenure, he has focused on providing public and private growing companies with audit and business advisory services in the technology, services, retail and consumer and industrial products industries. Jay has an array of experience working with companies in financing their business, international expansion, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and internal controls. Jay has assisted family owned business as they seek liquidity options for their shareholders, consider generational transition, and plan for leadership succession.

Jay is an author of Finding the Silver Lining:* How Private Companies Can Benefit from the New Governance and Disclosure Standards and of Benefitting from Sarbanes-Oxley: The challenge is finding the right balance between the costs and benefits. He is also an author of Whose Business Is It Anyway? Smart Strategies for Ownership Succession, PricewaterhouseCoopers’ publication on succession planning. Jay is a graduate of Stonehill College and serves on their Business Program Advisory Committee. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, and is a licensed CPA in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine. Jay has served on the board of the United Way of Rhode Island and the Tri-County United Way of Massachusetts.
