PricewaterhouseCoopers hosts IFRS Seminar entitled “IFRS – The Only Constant is Change”
It was another successful year for the PricewaterhouseCoopers International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) team on Monday, 5 October 2009 as the Firm presented its second annual IFRS Seminar entitled “IFRS –The Only Constant is Change”
The seminar which was held at the Terra Nova Hotel was aimed at the business community and other users if IFRS. Attendees included the Chief Executives and Chief Accountants of the leading organizations in Jamaica.
Presentations were made by PwC Jamaica’s Partner and IFRS Team Leader Alok Jain and the PwC U.K IFRS Specialist Tony de Bell, and included a range of topics of relevant interest to accounting specialist.
“These topics are of great significance to our clients as we continue to ensure that they are always well informed about all accounting matters and procedures” said Maxim Rochester, Territory Senior Partner of PwC Jamaica.
The function was well attended and oversubscribed as attendees listened attentively to the presentations on Credit Crunch and IFRS for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s).
‘This seminar was worthwhile, it’s a pity that there wasn’t more time to cover some of the topics” one patron commented.
The IFRS Seminar is part of a range of client-focused activities instituted by the firm to promote thought leadership throughout the Jamaican business environment.
