Petr Kříž, a partner in the Assurance and Advisory Services department of PricewaterhouseCoopers, appointed vice-president of European Federation of Accountants

Petr Kříž 12 December 2006 - Petr Kříž (44), a partner in the Assurance and Advisory Services department of PricewaterhouseCoopers, was appointed vice-president and treasurer of the European Federation of Accountants (FEE). He also became chairman of the Banks working party.

“His election as the new vice-president is recognition of his character, abilities and activities in the auditing profession at the local and international levels and, at the same time, recognition of the qualities of the auditing profession in the Czech Republic,” said President of the Chamber of Auditors of the Czech Republic Vladimír Králíček about the appointment.

“I am pleased that the region of Central Europe has gained representation in the executive body of the FEE and would like to thank the Chambers and PricewaterhouseCoopers for their support in my appointment to this position," said Petr Kříž.

Petr Kříž is a partner in the audit section of PricewaterhouseCoopers Audit. Since 2002, he has been a member of the council of the European Federation of Accountants. In the years 2001-2004, he was president of the Chamber of Auditors of the Czech Republic and since 2004 represents the chamber in the council of the FEE. He is also a member of the workgroup for audit reform of the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic and a member of the Listing Committee of the Prague Stock Exchange.

Petr Kříž graduated from the University of Economics in Prague and is a Czech statutory auditor and a certified accountant of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). Among his main specialisations belong banking and financial instruments; accounting and audit regulations; and international standards and their convergence. He has authored numerous articles in professional publications and, in addition to this, lectured at a number of international conferences.
