PricewaterhouseCoopers Strengthens its Business Development Activities
30 March 2006 - Petr Hájek, (29) joined PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Manager responsible for business development in Tax and Advisory Services. He will be responsible for the development of specific services within both departments and for the relationship with potential clients of the company.
“Business Development Manager is a new position within PricewaterhouseCoopers, so starting this job is a real challenge for me. I believe I will be able to make use of my experience in dealing with both investors and public service,” stated Petr Hájek.
From August 2004 until his appointment at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Petr Hájek worked at the Office of the Czech Government. Under the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, he headed the Business Environment and Legislation Department. He is an author of the research and development costs allowance introduced in 2004, which introduced indirect support of research and development to Czech legislation. In addition, he coordinated the completion of the new Act on Bankruptcy and the environmental legislation audit.
During 2003-2004 he served as Director of CzechInvest's Department of Legislation and Business Environment, where he was dealing with investment incentives specialising at the area of state aid rules. He was the member of the team charged with attracting large investment projects to the Czech Republic (e.g. Toyota-Peugeot-Citroën, Hyundai).
Hájek is a graduate of the Law Faculty of Charles University. He has experience in negotiating with the European Commission in the area of state aid. He has lectured and written articles for the press on the issue of state aid and investment incentives. He speaks English and German.
He is single, and his interests include snowboarding, football, music, and fine arts.
