5 December 2011 – Petr Sedláček will lead PwC Czech Republic Advisory Services for banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions. Petr was appointed as a Director at the end of November. He has extensive experience working with financial institutions. For 7 years he was a CEO of Global Payments Europe, a company listed on the New York stock exchange (NYSE).
In his new role, Petr Sedláček will focus on further development of PwC advisory services for the financial sector. His team covers a broad number of domains within the general theme of how financial institutions function: from IT and processes, through HR, to marketing and sales.
“The financial sector will face another challenging year. The issue will be optimisation and efficiency, in particular. However, even in tough times, financial institutions should not forget about long-term strategy and their relationship with their customers. I believe that, thanks to my experience and knowledge and our great team of experts, we will be able to assist our banking, insurance and investment company clients to successfully go through this formidable period,“ said Petr.
Prior to joining PwC, Petr Sedláček (47) was a Deputy-minister of Transportation, where he was, among others, responsible for public private partnership (PPP) projects. He had been a CEO of Czech Post (Česká pošta) prior his position at the ministry. Petr is married with 3 sons. He spends his spare time with his family. He enjoys sports, particularly golf.
