Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA)

CIMA (or the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) is a leading membership body that offers professional management accounting qualifications. It is a globally recognised organisation with 172,000 members and students working in 168 countries. CIMA focuses primarily on business needs and the qualification has an emphasis on accounting for business.

The CIMA training programme is dedicated to educating business professionals. It consists of 15 examinations with subjects including managerial accounting, finance, taxes, strategy and business administration.

A CIMA diploma constitutes an opportunity for development on international labour markets as CIMA certificates are valued by employers worldwide. Students and CIMA members are current or future consultants, Chief Financial Officers, financial controllers, investment consultants or analysts working in many international companies.

Rules of participation

CIMA is very flexible concerning the start of qualification. Even if you don‘t have any experience in finance or a degree in economics, you can successfully pursue CIMA qualification. If your studies were connected with finance or law you can be exempted from some of the subjects/papers. Closed CIMA courses at PwC Business Academy

PwC Academy acquired CIMA accreditation, becoming Listed Tuition Provider, and can provide tuition preparing for CIMA exams We want to meet market expectations and we therefore offer in-company CIMA courses for individual companies. The path of exam sittings will be tailored to the needs of the customer, considering their busy schedule and training needs (the entire qualification, selected papers or levels). This approach is cost effective for the employer.

 

Open CIMA courses at PwC Business Academy

PwC Academy will launch courses for some of the CIMA Papers preparing for exams in the year 2011 (May and November). Further information (incl. dates of the spring courses) will be available later on.

 

Important information!

CIMA obligatory fees: Registration Fee, Annual Subscription, Exemption and Exam Fee.

  • Examinations language is English.
  • All exams on Certificate Level are computer based (Computer Based Assessment) and you can pass them throughout the year.
  • Paper-based exams can be taken twice a year in May and November,at the same time worldwide and with the same content.
  • CIMA students can take a maximu of six exams in one exam session.Recommended amount of kams taken in one session is three.
  • You have to pass all exams in the Certificate Level to start sitting exams in the Operational and Management Level. After finishing these levels it is possible to start exams at the Strategic Level.
  • Starting from the Operational Level the CIMA program is dividend into three pillars: Enterprise, Performance and Financial.
