PricewaterhouseCoopers Cyprus was awarded with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAC) Quality Checked certificate during a ceremony which took place on Thursday, 8 April 2010 at the Hilton Cyprus Hotel. The ceremony was attended by the Practice Monitoring Director of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Mr Sha Ali Khan and other distinguished guests.
The ICPAC Quality Checked certificate is a quality assurance programme carried out by ACCA on behalf of ICPAC to all member firms holding a practising certificate and aims at improving quality controls and introducing best practice procedures.
The certificate is awarded to organisations which meet the required standard of excellence in the quality assurance review. This review comprises a full analysis on the procedures followed in all business areas, and examines the files and systems to ensure that controls and procedures analysed are working in compliance with the quality control programme.
For PwC the Quality Checked certificate serves as recognition of the organisation’s focus and ongoing investment in quality. Phidias Pilides, Chief Executive Officer of PwC commented that “Chartered Accountants must serve as guardians of quality and integrity, which are the two milestones of the accounting profession. According to the framework of our role we encourage our clients to enhance their corporate reporting and demonstrate real commitment towards transparency. Therefore, we should have our house in order first. We believe that the sustainable growth we have achieved as a firm, through a high performance culture based on three quality pillars -- quality people, quality clients, quality services -- formed the foundations of our success.
Being awarded the ICPAC Quality Checked Certificate strengthens even further our commitment to offer services of the highest quality. It paves the way for new goals and reinforces our resolution in addressing major challenges concerning the progress of our economy and our society.”
