Over the past six years, Edmonton has experienced phenomenal investment in the oil sands, a boom in construction activity, growth in personal income and strong economic spending—more than any other Canadian city.

We’re looking for great people to join our Assurance and Tax teams. We have a diverse client base that allows our people to gain exposure to various industries. The size of our office means you’ll get to know people across the office and work with our partners on a daily basis.

Our Audit and Assurance practice is a CA Training Office, allowing you to gain the right technical training as you pursue your designation.

We also support opportunities allowing our people to work in different areas of our business and even in other countries. Some members of our office have participated in development opportunities in New York City, London and most recently Australia.

While we work hard, we offer programs like Flexible Fridays and Briefcase Moms to help make your work/life flexibility a priority.

Audit and Assurance

With us, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in our Audit and Assurance CA Program which will give you the skills to be a trusted business advisor. While the focus of your practical experience will be with our Audit and Assurance practice, you’ll also have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in our Tax and Consulting & Deals practices. Once you have your CA, it’s common for staff to explore other opportunities across our other lines of services, both domestically and abroad.

“There’s a big learning curve when you start at PwC. It might seem a bit daunting, but there’s tons of people around the office willing to take the time to teach you what to do and why you’re doing it. Being ‘taught’ instead of ‘told’ what to do makes a huge difference when you’re starting a new job!” — Byron, Summer Student

“Every day at PwC Edmonton is a bit different! As a co–op student I’ve been able to experience every side of the firm, from preparing personal tax returns, to working on audit engagements in the Northwest Territories. I love the diversity and the different opportunities PwC allows me to experience.”
— Jeremy, Co–op Student

PwC believes in helping to build and empower the communities in which we live and work through team volunteering, environmentally-focused initiatives and charity fundraising campaigns. We encourage our people to increase their involvement in the community by using their expertise and resources to make tangible and sustainable differences to causes important to them.

We support community involvement by giving each staff member one paid day per year to participate in a volunteer activity. In 2010-2011, our people volunteered more than 400 hours in the community. A sample of some of the local organizations we’ve supported include:
  • Edmonton Food Bank
  • Big Bike Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Strollery Children's Hospital Foundation
  • Ronald MacDonald House
  • Salvation Army
  • Wildlife Rehabilitation Society

“Through our Team Volunteering Days, I had the opportunity to not only give back to the community, but to develop relationships with others on different teams in the office. I’ve participated in Habitat for Humanity and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Edmonton. Both activities provided me with new knowledge and experience while allowing me to make a contribution to the community.”

While work is a big part of what we do, we also encourage our people to get involved both inside and outside the office in a number of fun, firm-supported events.

Our Annual Spring Fling and holiday celebrations are not only an opportunity to celebrate the end of a busy season, but to connect with people from your team and other lines of service.

Our annual participation in Edmonton’s Corporate Challenge and our local PwC wellness activities are great ways to keep fit. Our Dragon Boat Festival, PwC Slow Pitch and Hockey teams give you an opportunity to get to know your colleagues. We want to make sure you know you’re part of a great team.

“I think social events build the people at the firm into a more cohesive team. When we all attend the holiday party, or the spring fling, it gives us a chance to really get to know each other, the people in other lines of service and build our network within our own firm.”

"Throughout the UFE process, there are numerous support systems. One key support is that all writers are assigned a UFE mentor. The mentors are there to help you in whatever way you need. They'll mark practice questions or provide feedback on your progression. My mentor was a great support base, helping me to prepare mentally and boost my confidence." — Jonathan, Senior Associate
