Definitely! At PwC, we believe you can gain experience from many areas including work, volunteering, and involvement with sports teams or committees.

4. I want to become a Chartered Accountant but I do not have a business degree. Can I still apply to PwC?

5. I'd like to find out about upcoming recruiting events at my school or in my city. Where can I find this information?

Check with your university's Career Centre or student accounting association for upcoming PwC events on campus.

6. Does PwC accept applications throughout the year or only during the fall period by the deadline listed for my school?

Our PwC Take the Lead website is not open year-round. The deadline for applying will be listed on the application instructions for the office to which you are applying. After the recruiting process ends, the application page will be closed until next year.

7. I submitted my application last year but did not get a position at PwC. Can I apply again this year? Which files should I attach to apply?

Certainly! With respect to the files you should attach, please check the application instructions spelled out by the office to which you are applying on the main application page. Some offices require a Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE) form, while others require a cover letter and resumé.

8. I would like to change or update my original application and would like to re-submit it. Is this okay?

Due to the volume of applications submitted, we ask that you only submit your application once as your first application will be the only one considered.

10. What kind of education and training does PwC offer?

11. What type of client industries may I be exposed to?

While we look for candidates who think about the impact of their decisions and are quick on their feet, your team leader and coach will help guide you so you never feel isolated and overwhelmed.

13. How will PwC help me prepare for the Chartered Accountant (CA) exams?

We have an extensive UFE preparation program that centres on a personalized approach where we work closely with you to ensure you receive the preparation that best meets your needs. We also pay for the CA exams and offer extensive study leave.

While you study, you have access to subject matter professionals within the firm. Your coach, mentor and peer group will guide and assist you all the way.

14. Does PwC hire students who don't have a business background?

Yes! Our philosophy is to hire outstanding, well-rounded people and not all of them come to PwC with a business background or degree. We recruit people from diverse disciplines of study including accounting, economics, arts, science, information technology and engineering. In fact, many of our partners and staff come from non-commerce backgrounds.

15. Does PwC hire co-op and summer students?

Many of our offices hire co-op and summer students. We work hard to ensure that your co-op education or summer associate term provides you with the knowledge base to become a future professional in your field. You'll gain valuable experience while working on many different assignments in an inclusive environment.

17. How will my career progress at PwC?

Performance evaluation and career development is an ongoing process. You will be provided with a coach who can help with your career development.

Your performance is evaluated during and at the end of each major assignment. The evaluations are summarized and used in your annual evaluation. On top of your annual salary, our incentive compensation programs recognize and reward your contributions outside of your day-to-day work. Remember that the most valuable learning takes place on a day-to-day basis when working on client assignments.
