Suzanne Peever is a Tax Services partner working in the Calgary office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. As a member of the firm’s Human Resource Services team, she provides services primarily to the oil, gas and construction sectors.
Suzanne specializes in Canadian and US personal taxation, payroll and assignment compensation planning, tax minimization and compliance for high net worth families with US family members and cross-border business interests. She prides herself on tailoring her services to meet her clients’ needs. For example, her team recently flew to a US oil rig site to explain the tax implications of an international assignment to each employee and gather information necessary to complete their tax returns. When the returns were finished, they were delivered to the employees once they returned from their overseas assignment.
Suzanne graduated with a BCom in 1987 from the University of Calgary and earned her CA designation in 1990. Before joining PwC in 2002, she provided US corporate and personal tax services at another large professional services firm.
Suzanne been invited to speak on a variety of topics, including tax developments in the Fifth Protocol to the Canada - US Tax Treaty; application of the US anti-deferral rules for Canadians; termination of employees on cross border assignments, and taxation of stock options for individuals crossing the border. She also sits on the Calgary Girls Choir’s board of directors.
