Sham Madhok is an associate partner with PwC and leads the Federal Government infrastructure, project finance and complex procurement practice. Sham advises public and private sector clients on project finance, transaction strategy and structuring, governance, procurement, risk management, payment mechanism and commercial terms. Sham has extensive global business experience over the last 24 years spanning Canada, the UK, the US, Bermuda and Mexico, advising on business models and transactions with a capital value in excess of $40Bn.

Recent transactions:

  • Advised City of Ottawa on the $2.1 Bn Ottawa Light Rail Transit project and the Lansdowne Redevelopment project;
  • Advised Public Works and Government Services Canada in the RFP evaluation, governance and commercial structure of the $33Bn National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy

Beginning in June 2014, Sham is transitioning into her new role as Leader, Risk and Quality for Deals, comprising M&A, Corporate Finance, Valuations and Infrastructure and Project Finance. In addition to her risk and infrastructure roles, Sham is a key member of PwC's Diversity and Inclusion office focusing on the firm's strategic diversity initiatives. Prior to her current roles, Sham worked in Corporate Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions and Valuations in the Canadian mid-market sector, and held progressive positions in industry in retail, graphic arts and healthcare before joining PwC.

Sham was part of the pioneering team that established the Women's Initiative Network in 1994 at Coopers & Lybrand and was one of the first PwC partners to participate in PwC's Women in Leadership initiative. Sham is a mentor at the University of Ottawa Telfer Capital Markets Mentorship program, is a former governor of the Board of Governors and Audit Committee of the North York General Hospital and a former director on the Board of the Canadian Hearing Society, Toronto Chapter. Sham is a Chartered Accountant, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, is a graduate of York University and the Women's Leadership Forum at Harvard Business School.
