Ray is an assurance partner in the Calgary office with over 33 years of experience.

Ray has been a member of the firm’s management, most recently as Managing Partner, Western Canada from 2011-2013. In this role, he led PwC’s market activities in Western Canada and was the senior relationship partner for a number of the firm’s largest clients. Ray also oversaw the firm’s Private Company Service market segment and PwC’s offices in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Southwestern Ontario, Quebec City and Atlantic Canada.

Previous to that, Ray was the Managing Partner of PwC’s Calgary office from 2005-2011. As Managing Partner, Ray was responsible for market facing activities in Calgary and Edmonton while also serving a number of the firm’s largest audit clients. Prior to becoming Calgary’s Managing Partner, he served as an elected member of the firm’s governing body, the Partnership Board from 2001-2005.

Ray has been a partner since 1996, working with large publicly traded corporations operating in the natural resource and utilities sectors. He joined the firm in 1981 and prior to moving to Calgary in 1996 from Toronto, he worked in PwC’s New York and London offices.

Ray is currently a member of the Financial Review Committee of the Alberta Securities Commission and has been a member of the Financial Advisory Committee of the ASC. He is also a member of the board of the Canada West Foundation.

Ray graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in Economics and Political Science and is a member of the Alberta and Ontario Institutes of Chartered Accountants. He has served in the community as Chair of the annual fundraising dinner for Hull Child and Family Services and as a member of the Patrons’ Council of the Chefs for UNICEF Gala fundraising dinner.
