Peter Koch is a director with the Consulting practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP working in the Toronto office. He is part of our Internal Audit team.
Peter has more than eleven years of internal audit, risk management and corporate governance experience gained through serving a diverse client base including national, multinational and government organization clients. He is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) with extensive experience in assessing and improving financial, operational and compliance control systems.
Peter has performed a wide variety of risk management and controls related professional services over the past eleven years at PwC. His projects include internal audit engagements (outsource, co-source and consulting), NI 52-109 and Sarbanes-Oxley (302 and 404) compliance assignments, financial and operational internal controls reviews, business process improvement assignments, risk assessments, risk culture surveys, IT audits and data conversion projects. While he has worked with clients in a wide variety of industries, his primary focus over the past five years has been in the mining, energy and utilities sectors.
Peter has been involved in developing and implementing our internal audit methodology, having contributed significantly to our thought leadership in the areas of internal audit risk assessment, SOX and NI 52-109 compliance, IFRS conversion and internal audit transformation. Peter also plays a leadership role in our national internal audit learning and education program.
