Peter Hargitai is a partner in the Consulting practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP working in the Toronto office. He specializes in risk management, implementation of control frameworks, and the design and assessment of business process and information technology (IT) controls. Peter has overseen some of the largest, most complex, multi-location controls advisory engagements in the practice. He provides strategic advice to clients, with a focus on those in the financial services sector on their business process and IT outsourcing requirements. His expertise includes controls assurance, using CICA section 5970 and AICPA SAS70 reporting strategies. Peter has also taken a lead role in developing our global network’s controls assurance approach for service organizations.
As the IFRS Consulting leader, Peter oversees the provision of IFRS services to our clients with a special focus on systems, process, data and project management considerations of IFRS conversion initiatives.
In 1995, Peter joined PwC after he earned a BCom degree from the University of Toronto. Peter worked for a major Canadian bank’s treasury operations group in 2000 and returned to PwC in 2001. He obtained his CA designation in 1999 and his CA•IT specialist designation in 2006.
From 2000 to 2002 Peter taught accounting on a part-time basis at York University.
