Mike Harris is a Risk Assurance Services partner in the Vancouver office of PwC. He has 28 years of consulting experience and specializes in providing management and boards with strategy, business process, governance, risk, and internal controls related services. Mike leads PwC’s National Corporate Governance Practice and the BC Public Sector practice. He is also a member of the PwC Partnership Board.

Mike’s diverse experience is concentrated in the public sector, retail, and energy, mining and utilities industries. He has led many significant business transformation projects throughout his career and has helped clients achieve their objectives of improved business processes, governance, risk management and control. Mike has also led major internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing assignments and internal control certification projects, with a view to achieving compliance in a cost effective manner.

Mike is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor and an accredited director with the Institute of Corporate Directors of Canada. His Six Sigma Black Belt training allows him to bring a value added, performance improvement based approach to his governance, risk and controls work.

Mike is currently the Corporate Governance Disclosure Judging Coordinator for the CICA Corporate Reporting Awards. In addition, he sits on a variety of charity boards.
