Mike Harris is a Consulting Services partner in the Vancouver office of PwC and leads the Canadian Corporate Governance practice. He is also leads the firm’s British Columbia Public Sector and Government, and Risk and Controls group.
Mike has more than 19 years' experience and specializes in providing management and boards with governance, risk and controls advisory services.
He has helped many clients assess, document and improve their operational and financial processes as well as ensuring they comply with regulatory requirements such as SOX and Bill 198. In addition to advising management on areas of risk and control, he also advises boards and management staff on corporate governance matters. He also leads internal audit advisory engagements and co-sourcing and full outsourcing services.
Mike advises a wide range of clients from medium-sized owner-managed companies to large multinationals in a variety of industries.
Mike earned a BCom from the University of British Columbia (1987) and is a CA and a CIA. He joined the firm in 1987 and was appointed to the partnership in 2001. He is also an accredited director of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and completed their governance college program at the University of Toronto's Rotman School in 2005.
Mike is an active participant in his community. He is currently the treasurer of the Paul Penna Day School of Toronto and sits on the Risk Management Governance Board of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). He is also the past Audit Committee Chair of the Parkinson's Society of Canada.
