Mike Shea is a vice president in PwC Canada’s Business Modelling Services Group and is based in our Toronto office.

As part of the Business Modelling Services Group, Mike combines his extensive financial advisory and business modelling experience to assist clients in a variety of business decisions through the development of robust, dynamic and user-friendly financial models to provide better insight and analysis into key decision factors. Typical business decisions in which Mike advises his clients include mergers & acquisitions, strategic planning and forecasting, performance measurement, investment appraisal, project financing and business start-ups.

Recent transactions:

  • Developed a financial model to assist JAPEX in its acquisition of a 10% interest in North Montney shale gas assets and participation in a planned LNG facility in BC from PETRONAS and its subsidiary Progress Energy Canada Ltd.
  • Performed model diligence on the financial model and supporting assumptions book developed by large publicly traded energy company for the purpose of obtaining financing for the development of a LNG facility.
  • Developed a financial model for a company in the transportation sector in support of their successful bid for a contract worth over $200 million to create, implement and sustain a full service bus transit system in a Canadian based municipality.

Mike began his career at PwC in 2004, where he initially qualified as a chartered accountant in our Audit practice. He subsequently joined PwC’s Valuation practice in 2006, which included a secondment to our London, UK office for over three years, before joining PwC’s Business Modelling Group in our Toronto office in 2010. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (2007) and Chartered Business Valuator (2010).
