Michael Godwin is a partner in the Financial Services assurance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP working in the Calgary office. He is also the leader of our Alberta Financial Services practice.
Michael has 25 years of experience helping with a broad range of issues facing financial institutions, including the credit and capital markets activities of large banks and other financial firms.
Michael spent five years in PwC's Financial Services practice in the United States. He has considerable experience in Canadian and U.S. GAAP, public companies, financial services industry issues and securities regulation, credit processes and loan loss methodologies, derivative instruments, and reporting on internal controls.
Michael graduated from the London School of Economics in London, England with a BSc in Economics. He is qualified as a Canadian and U.K. chartered accountant and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and both the Ontario and Alberta Institutes of Chartered Accountants.
Michael serves as treasurer on the board of Junior Achievement of Central Ontario, a charitable organization that helps young Canadians discover leadership, entrepreneurial and workforce readiness skills so they can achieve their highest potential as citizens of our global community.
