Michael Dobner is a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Consulting & Deals Group. He has more than 30 years of experience in litigation support and business valuation. In addition, Michael leads the Economics practice and the Licensing Management practice for PwC Canada.

Michael has been qualified as an expert in court and other quasi-judicial bodies for a large variety of commercial and economic disputes. He has served as an arbitrator in cases involving disputes over purchase price and valuation. Michael has served as an economic advisor in relation to high profile policy reviews by Provincial Governments and the Federal Government in Canada. In addition to Canada, Michael has practiced internationally in Europe Latin America, the U.S. and the Middle East. He has substantial experience in working with mining and other resource-based companies around the globe and has been retained as a valuation expert and advisor by some of the largest international mining companies. Michael frequently advises clients from the private and non-profit sector on intellectual property issues.

Michael holds a BA in Management and Economics and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Tel Aviv University. He also finished with distinction first year PhD finance program at University of California, Berkeley. Michael is a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) and an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA).

Michael has been invited to speak in numerous events. He is an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto where he developed a unique course that combines finance, accounting and economics with law. Over the last decade, Michael has been a regular guest lecturer in the graduate programs of Osgoode School of Law and the Schulich School of Business (York University). Michael has written articles for the US Business Valuation Review magazine, The Lawyers Weekly and the Journal of Business Valuation, and a publication of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business on the subjects of valuation, loss quantification and Intellectual Property.
