Lyne Dufresne is an Audit and Assurance Group partner in the Vancouver office of PwC Canada.
Within PwC, Lyne is responsible for training personnel in the Montréal office. Recently, she led audit engagements for large companies in banking, life insurance, pulp and paper, general insurance and utilities industries, as well as a number of mutual and professional liability insurance funds.
Other current experience includes her involvement of SOX compliance mandates, related to the documentation and testing of internal controls. Lyne also remains active in implementing new audit methodologies based on the controls surrounding the complex systems used by large companies under audit. Previously, she was in charge of training for Quebec employees working in the insurance sector.
Lyne received a BA (Business Administration, Accounting Sciences) at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in 1985. She joined the firm’s Montréal office in 1993, after working seven years with another major Canadian accounting firm, and has been an Assurance Services partner since July 2000. In 2004, she took an active part in training for the integrated audits required under US standards.
Lyne has participated in engagements related to prospectus preparation for public issuing of shares and debt securities in Canada, the US and Europe. She has also aided review efforts for Canadian and US GAAP reconciliation, and in conducting due diligence for corporate acquisitions.
Lyne has been a member of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec since 1985.
