Lana Paton is a member of PwC Canada's Leadership Team leading Energy, Utilities, Mining and Industrial Products for the Canadian firm and is also a member of the firm’s Tax Leadership Group.
Lana assists several large utility and mining companies with operations in Canada and globally in addressing their business issues. Lana is also a partner in PwC's Tax services group. With a broad range of experience providing tax advice to mining companies, utilities and multinationals, Lana develops detailed and highly successful tax plans for her clients.
Lana’s areas of specialization include tax issues related to cross-border tax planning, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate reorganizations, payments in lieu of taxes, provincial mining taxes and levies, tax accounting matters and dealing with taxation authorities in all levels of government.
With the firm since January 1994, Lana has made various utility and mining industry presentations and was a contributor to PwC’s annual Mine publication that reviews global trends in the mining industry. She has worked with a wide variety of advisors on numerous engagements in countries around the world.
Lana received BMath degree from the University of Waterloo in 1993. She has been a qualified CA since 1994.
