Ken Goodwin is a partner in the Deals practice of PwC Canada working in the Toronto office. He is the National Leader of the Valuations, Modelling and Disputes practice.
Ken is focused on providing business and asset valuation advice in a variety of contexts including corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, tax and estate planning, shareholder transactions, strategic business decisions and financial reporting. He has experience in a wide range of business issues including the valuation of businesses and assets, development of reports that are subject to public and regulatory scrutiny, various aspects of merger, acquisition, and financing transactions.
In addition, Ken has supervised and critiqued valuation assignments and financial projections related to financial restructurings, changes in regulated businesses, contracts, and business plans. He has been involved in a variety of industries including telecommunications and technology, media and entertainment, electricity and consumer and industrial products.
Ken has presented on intangible asset valuation approaches, recent financial reporting developments and related valuation issues to the Ontario Securities Commission. He has written a research paper analyzing in-process research and development financial reporting issues, and a chapter outlining new goodwill and intangible asset guidelines in a Borden Ladner Gervais LLP publication.
Ken holds a MBA from the University of Toronto. He is a CA and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV). He is also a Canadian silver medalist for scoring the second-highest mark on CBV membership entrance exam.
