Kas Rehman leads the Forensic Services group of the Ottawa and Montréal offices of PwC Canada. He is also national leader of Public Sector Forensic services.
With over more than 20 years of professional experience, he has uncovered, investigated and quantified numerous employee and corporate frauds on behalf of corporate victims, government departments and agencies, legal counsel, insurance companies and police authorities.
He has prepared numerous expert reports relating to the theory and quantum of economic damages in a variety of cases involving fraud, breach of contract, commercial and personal injury losses and other related matters. His expertise includes assisting legal counsel with settlement discussions, trial preparation and expert witness testimony. Kas has appeared as an expert witness with respect to damage quantification in Ontario Superior Court and the Federal Court of Canada.
Kas' speaking engagements include presentations to audit committees, trade associations, corporations, public sector departments and agencies, legal counsel, and others on economic crime, occupational fraud, fraud awareness and anti-fraud regimes, as well presentations to representatives of the insurance industry on the quantification of personal injury losses, the principles of Business Interruption Insurance, forensic document assessment and analysis and fraud risks and indicators in insurance claims.
He is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner and is a member of the Alliance for Excellence in Investigative and Forensic Accounting of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is the President of the Ottawa Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
