Jim Wilson is a Tax Services partner in the Toronto office of Wilson & Partners LLP, a law firm affiliated with PwC. Jim specializes in mergers and acquisitions, international tax and capital markets.
Before joining Wilson & Partners, Jim was a tax partner in a major Canadian law firm. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Canadian Tax Foundation and the International Fiscal Association.
Jim is a former director of the Tax Counsel Division of the Department of Justice, former part-time lecturer in international tax law at the University of Western Ontario in London and former member of the International Tax Advisory Committee of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
Jim has authored and presented papers on various tax subjects for the Canadian Tax Foundation, the International Fiscal Association, the Tax Executives Institute and other organizations. He recently presented at the International Fiscal Association conference on "The GAAR and Canada’s Tax Treaties: Which is Trump?"
