Ivan Williams is a partner in the Tax Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP working in the Calgary office. He is the leader of the Calgary Transfer Pricing group. Ivan has more than 10 years of transfer pricing experience, including audit defence and risk assessments. Prior to joining the Calgary team, Ivan spent six years with the firm's Vancouver and Toronto offices. Ivan joined the firm with PwC New Zealand in 1992 and worked there until 1999.
Ivan is the author of a number of recent articles on transfer pricing, including contributions to the Canadian firm’s newsletter Transcend. Ivan has co-authored articles for the Canadian Tax Journal and is a regular speaker for organizations such as the Tax Executive Institute and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
In 1990, Ivan received a BCom degree in Economics at Auckland University in New Zealand. A year later, he earned a postgraduate Diploma in Commerce in Accounting and Finance and in 1995 he earned a Master’s degree in Taxation from the University of Auckland. He has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand since 1995. Ivan recently completed his Canadian Chartered Business Valuator designation, placing first in Canada in three of the six required courses.
