Gord is a partner in the Assurance group of the PwC Edmonton office. His experience in the Edmonton market has allowed him to work with many industries, including construction, consumer goods and retail, energy services, forest products, real estate and utilities.
Gord also has extensive experience in the financial services sector and is, or has been, lead audit engagement partner for property and casualty insurers in Alberta, credit unions, investment management companies, broker/dealers, mutual fund groups, pension plans, and mortgage investment corporations.
Gord’s clients include public companies, larger private companies, companies with private equity owners, and companies going public. Virtually all of his clients follow IFRS and as result, he has dealt with complex IFRS matters, including first-time adoption, purchase price allocations, impairments, and financial instruments.
Throughout his career, he has established relationships with several industry and other subject matter experts across the Canadian firm and has been able to leverage those relationships to provide excellent client service.
Gord is also a regular sessional instructor on the topic of “Audit Committee Effectiveness” for the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Gord joined the firm in 1989, after obtaining his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 and a Certified Public Accountant (Illinois) in 2000. He was admitted to the partnership in 2002 and was the leader of PwC Edmonton’s Assurance practice for five years.
