Elizabeth Johnson is a partner in the Toronto office of Wilson & Partners LLP, a law firm affiliated with PwC, and a partner in the Toronto tax practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers Associates. Her practice covers a range of business income tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions, international tax and capital markets. She is recognized in Lexpert and in Chambers Global Directory as a leading Canadian tax practitioner.
Elizabeth joined Wilson & Partners LLP as a partner in March, 2003. Prior to joining the firm, she was a partner in a major national Canadian law firm for many years.
Elizabeth has spoken and written extensively on a range of tax subjects, including partnership taxation, corporate finance, international financing structures, interest deductibility and tax avoidance. She is the co-author of Understanding the Taxation of Partnerships (5th Edition) and of several recent articles in the Canadian Tax Journal on international tax planning subjects.
Elizabeth is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Bar Association and the International Fiscal Association. She has served on the CBA-CICA joint committee on taxation. She received a LLB from the University of Toronto (1977) and an LLM from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts (1978).
