Christopher O’Connor is a PwC director and the leader of PwC’s Risk Assurance Services practice in Southwest Ontario. He has more than 18 years of risk and controls experience across a wide variety of industries and organizations, both locally and globally.
Christopher has a strong background in internal audit, SOX, M52-109, risk management, compliance, and IT governance, risk and controls. He also has experience with many clients in preparing for and issuing SOC reports and agreed upon procedures. He has worked with executives to focus strategic direction, define and implement organizational change, create value added processes, manage business and systems availability and resolve end user computing challenges. He has management and hands on experience with data analytics and information governance.
Christopher has authored several IT governance, risk and control whitepapers for organizations such as the CICA and CIO magazine. He has been conference chair for various IT governance conferences, in addition to being a guest speaker on Internal Audit, IT Audit, SOX, SOX for Small Companies, End User Computing, Application Controls, Integrated Auditing, IT Risk Management, and Business Continuity/Availability. He has served as a lecturer for Wilfrid Laurier University (IT Audit), University of Waterloo (IT Audit), University of Toronto (Continuity and Availability Strategy), York University (IT Governance) and Conestoga College (Advanced Accounting).
Christopher has served as the Director of Stewardship for a historic local congregation and as Lay Minister for a nearby congregation. He has also served as Chair of the Academic Committee for the Toronto Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors and as the Chairman of Celebrate!.
