Christian Fanning is a partner in the Tax Services group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP working in the Montreal office.
He is part of the firm’s US Corporate Taxation team and specializes in this area. Among other responsibilities, he is in charge of US corporate tax compliance and consulting services at the Montreal office.
Drawing on his extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of US corporate tax matters, he provides bilingual client services (in English and French) in connection with mergers and acquisitions, international financing structures, compliance, and preparation/evaluation of US income tax provisions for accounting purposes. His clients mostly come from the Forest, Paper & Packaging, Industrial Manufacturing, Pharma/Life Sciences, Retail and Consumer, Utilities, Private Equity, Communications and Technology sectors.
Over the past 14 years, Christian has gained significant experience in accounting and tax. He has provided professional accounting/tax services in the area of audit and assurance, Canadian corporate tax consulting, as well as US tax compliance and consulting.
Christian holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) with a Major in Accountancy and a Graduate Diploma (Gr. Dip.) in Public Accountancy from Concordia University. He became a chartered accountant (CPA, CA) and Certified General Accountant (CPA, CGA) in 2001. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant from the state of Illinois, (CPA, Illinois) and completed parts I and II of the CICA in-depth tax course.
Christian currently teaches US Federal Taxation part-time at Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business (Faculty of Accounting). He has also taught various continuing education courses for the Quebec Order of Chartered Accountants (OCAQ), including Introduction to US Corporate Taxation (English and French versions) and Introduction to US Multistate Taxation.
