Catriona Read is a partner in the Audit and Assurance Group of PwC Canada working in the Toronto office. Catriona has more than 18 years of experience serving asset management and other financial services clients.
Catriona’s specific experience includes clients in all aspects of the asset management industry including investment advisors and managers (public and private), mutual funds, pooled funds, structured products, hedge funds, venture capital funds, real estate and mortgage funds and private equity funds. Catriona has provided audit services to clients reporting under IFRS, US GAAP and ASPE.
Catriona spent two years working as a manager in the PwC Los Angeles financial services group, where her clients included large retail mutual funds, hedge and private equity funds, real estate funds and public companies.
She has presented several times to clients at PwC events and also leads many internal courses. Catriona serves as the only audit firm representative on the CLHIA IFRS Segregated Funds Working Group, and is the PwC representative on one of the IFIC IFRS sub-committees. She is also a member of the audit committee of the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation.
Catriona graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where she obtained a Bachelor of Commerce, (Honours). In addition to being a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant, Catriona is also a US Certified Public Accountant.
