Elisabeth Burke is a partner in the Consulting and Deals practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP working in the Toronto office.

For more than 15 years, Elisabeth has been a banker or senior adviser to the banking industry. She helps clients develop and implement winning strategies and solutions in the complex global arena of effective risk management and risk transformation.

Elisabeth has extensive international and domestic experience in leading large cross-border risk and finance initiatives with major banks, including the implementation and turnaround of multi-year enterprise-wide endeavours, as well as providing advice to firms outside financial services where effective risk management is critical. She has expertise in developing strategy, structure, and processes to achieve business and risk management objectives.

Elisabeth’s practical experience spans all aspects of risk management from governance and structure and, risk information systems and technology to credit portfolio management, assurance and internal control, and economic and regulatory capital. Elisabeth has had the opportunity to work with a broad range of clients and industries, including Schedule I banks, asset management companies, life sciences and health care, energy, mining, consumer and technology product companies, and domestic and international governments.

Prior to this role, Elisabeth recently returned to professional services from industry where, as a senior risk executive for a top 20 global bank, she led the implementation of advanced Basel II credit risk, operational risk, market risk, and interest rate risk accreditation in three regulatory jurisdictions.

Elisabeth has been an invited speaker at regulatory forums and risk management and governance seminars for various boards of directors.

Elisabeth graduated with an Economics degree from the University of Ottawa and an MBA (International Business & Finance) from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
