Bruce is a partner with PwC’s Consulting and Deals practice. Based in our Toronto and London offices, Bruce leads PwC’s Valuations, Forensics and Disputes (VFD) practice in Southwestern Ontario and Internal Audit (IA) practice in the Greater Toronto Area. He provides advice and assistance to public and private organizations dealing with risk management and compliance, and also specializes in dispute analysis and forensic accounting investigation.
Within VFD, Bruce reviews consequential loss claims in a litigation or insurance context, prepares expert reports and, if needed, provides expert testimony. He conducts assignments on behalf of insurers, policyholders, plaintiffs and defendants. Bruce also assists in loss quantification matters involving business interruption, direct physical damage repair, stock losses, economic losses resulting from personal injury, contract disputes, breach of contract, and product liability. Bruce has been accepted as an expert in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice Criminal Division, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Ontario Municipal Board, and the New Mexico Supreme Court.
As the GTA leader for IA, Bruce directs and manages a range of assignments including project-based internal audits, enterprise wide risk assessments and transforms the results into risk-based strategic internal audit plans, He performs external compliance reviews of the internal audit function, tests for internal controls certification, and reviews internal control systems following a control breakdown to assess the manner in which controls were circumvented.
Bruce is a CA designation holder since 1989, a Certified Fraud Examiner since 1993, and a certified specialist in investigative and forensic accounting (IFA) since 2000 by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). He is a past board member of the Alliance for Excellent in Investigative and Forensic Accounting for the CICA and currently a member of the Certification Committee. Bruce is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Risk and Insurance Management Society and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
