Arturo Lopez is a partner in the Consulting Services practice of PricewatershouseCoopers LLP working in the Toronto office. He is also the Canadian leader of our Risk & Controls services with focus on the public sector, energy, utilities and mining industries.

Arturo has more than 25 years of experience providing clients with assistance in designing, assessing and implementing controls over a number of business and technology processes. Arturo also performs project risk reviews that include assessments of the effectiveness of project management, quality assurance and data conversion activities related to information technology and business application implementation projects.

He is responsible for planning and executing our strategy for the delivery of Information Technology Audit services in support of certifications of internal control for financial reporting under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX 404) and the Canadian NI 52-109. He also provides audits of control procedures under the guidelines of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants CSAE 3416 and AICPA SAEE 16 for a number of organizations that provide business and information technology process services to a number of industries.

Arturo earned his CA designation (Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ontario) in 1993 and is a past president of the Toronto Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association.

Arturo has been involved with a number of engagements with the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) in which he provided expertise related to the assessment of control risk during the planning and execution of audits of financial statements agency and Crown corporations. Arturo was also a key member of the PwC team that supported OAG with the update of the audit methodology.

Arturo is the Treasurer of the Board of the Canadian Peruvian Chamber of Commerce in which he works to facilitate the business relations between Canada and Peru in a number of areas including mining and infrastructure investments.
