Andrew Vanderwal is a Tax Services partner in the Toronto office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP's Worldtrade Management Services (WMS) Practice. He is the firm's global OriginComplianceTM practice leader and also supports Canada's Customs/Trade group.
Andrew specializes in assisting clients with their management of preferential trade programs by providing automation-supported compliance services. These service programs use proprietary automation developed by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, including supplier collaboration web technologies for the gathering of supplier data and calculation of origin/domestic content under the regulatory requirements of many free trade agreements other trade programs.
Before joining PwC, Andrew developed an international trade consulting and information management practice with a leading North American customs brokerage and international trade consulting firm. He has represented national industry groups and the customs sector before the government and industry.
Andrew regularly presents a two-day NAFTA course to members of the Detroit-based Automotive Industry Action Group. He often speaks on customs topics at association annual meetings, conferences and seminars.
Andrew obtained a Masters in International Affairs from Carleton University in Ottawa, and a BA (Interdisciplinary Studies) from York University in Toronto. He is a published author (The Battle for Duncragglin, Tundra Books, 2009), and resides in Toronto with his wife and two children.
