Andrew Popert is a partner in the Audit and Assurance Group of PwC Canada working in the Toronto office.
Andrew is part of PwC Canada’s national real estate industry leadership team and is an International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Champion, focusing on delivering IFRS services to our clients, supporting and training our staff in IFRS, and helping our clients and audit teams across Canada solve their Canadian GAAP and IFRS technical issues. He is also part of the firm’s global real estate industry accounting group, which proactively identifies and addresses new technical IFRS accounting issues.
For the past year, Andrew has helped real estate clients understand the implications of adopting IFRS on their business, with a view to integrating the change effectively and seamlessly into their organization.
Andrew provides technical accounting and other support to the Real Property Association of Canada (RealPac) and teaches RealPac’s Introduction to Accounting for Real Estate course. He is also a development coach to junior staff, providing them guidance and support in their progression within the firm.
Andrew graduated from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario with a Masters of Accounting (MAcc) in 1994. He joined the firm as a co-op student in 1990 and became a full-time employee in 1994.
