Alain Dugal has been a partner in the Assurance group in PwC Canada’s Montréal office specializing in financial services since 1994. He leads audit engagements for various private and public companies in sectors such as life, property and casualty insurance; banking; securities brokerage; and mutual funds.
Alain obtained his BA (Accounting) from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in 1981 and became a CA in 1983. He joined PwC Canada’s Montréal office in 1981. From 1987 to 1989, he worked in PwC Switzerland’s Geneva office as part of an international manager exchange program.
From 1994 to 1998, Alain was national Leader of the Life Insurance Industry Services group and served as Quebec leader of the Financial Institutions Industry Services group from 1998 to 2014. He was also Quebec leader of the Audit and Assurance Group from 2005 to 2013. He was a member of PwC’s Canadian Partnership Board from 2003 to 2007.
As a lecturer at the Université du Québec à Montréal, Alain taught financial and cost accounting from 1983 to 1987.
Alain was named Chair of the Board of Directors of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec for a two-year mandate in 2014 and was elected a Fellow (FCPA) of the Order in 2013. The FCPA designation is a prestigious honour that officially recognizes the Order members who have demonstrated exceptional professional dedication or who have gained recognition for career or community achievements that have brought distinction to the accounting profession.
