He is a Canadian Chartered Accountant / CPA who has been with PwC in the tax group since October 2006. He also has a Master of Taxation from the University of Waterloo. James has a broad range of experience providing tax advice to clients in the mining industry, including both producers and junior exploration companies and involving clients mining and exploring for various base and precious metals and industrial minerals.

James’ tax experience includes tax issues related to accounting for income taxes, cross-border tax planning, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate reorganizations, provincial mining taxes and levies, and dealing with taxation authorities.

Evan has recently been involved in the following transactions: the acquisition and integration of a large mining company; the carve out and divestiture of the retail operations of an international company; the carve out and divestiture of a group of media publications from a large public company;  the  business due diligence (both financial and operational) on a technology and communications services company with multiple locations and revenue greater than $100 million; the integration three successive acquisitions completed in a space of four months by a large multi-national purchaser in the services business.

Evan brings a unique combination of expertise across every aspect of transactions from early stage strategy through execution, integration and harvest.  Evan is a Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

James LusbyJames is an experienced senior manager in the Audit and Assurance Group in our Toronto office of PwC Canada. James' work is focused on the mining industry and includes the audits of Canadian and US public companies, as well as SOX 404 compliance.

James is an IFRS champion for the Mining team and has assisted in the IFRS conversion projects of a number of multi-national mining companies. He co-authored and presented at our IFRS for the Mining Industry conference as well as wrote and presented IFRS mining training for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

James is a Chartered Accountant in Ontario (ICAO) and England (ICAEW). He holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Economics) from the University of Birmingham, England.

Nelson has led the environmental, corporate responsibility and sustainability functions for some of the world’s leading corporations and has advised businesses in the finance, energy, real estate, asset management, consumer goods and natural resource sectors, among others. He is credited for helping these organizations identify, manage and mitigate their environmental, social and economic challenges, enabling financial performance while preserving and protecting the natural and social capital on which our economy and communities depend.

Nelson holds a BSc (Biology) from the University of New Brunswick. He also obtained his MEng at the University of Toronto and was one of the first graduates to complete the Environmental Studies program at the same time.
