TORONTO, Wednesday, October 12, 2011 — Nominations are now being accepted at www.cfoy.ca for the 2012 Canada's CFO of the Year™ Award. The presenting sponsors for the 2012 award are Financial Executives International Canada (FEI Canada), PwC and Robert Half. Now in its 10th year, the award honours the quality, insight, direction and leadership of Canada's senior financial leaders. Nominations close on December 16, 2011.
Candidates from any business sector may be nominated by CEOs, corporate directors, financial analysts and other senior executives. An independent selection committee, chaired by Peter Dey, Chairman, Paradigm Capital Inc., and comprising some of Canada's most prominent business leaders, will select the 2012 award winner. The 2012 recipient of Canada's CFO of the Year™ Award will be honoured at a gala dinner on May 3, 2012.
“Financial executives today are managing many moving pieces on the modern business landscape,” said Michael Conway, Chief Executive and National President of FEI Canada. “They need to think strategically about all levels of their business, while managing risk; staying on top of technology; keeping up with evolving accounting standards; fostering innovation and working with fellow executive team members to build enterprise value. Canada’s CFO of the Year™ Award recognizes the achievements of those financial leaders who exemplify these abilities,” Conway said.
Previous recipients of Canada's CFO of the Year™ award include:
