Three awards given to distinctive individuals and client teams

September 22, 2009 — PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Canada is proud to announce the recipients of the firm's inaugural 2009 CEO Award for Ottawa. The CEO Award is given out in three categories: People, Client and Team, recognizing two individuals and one team that stand out and have achieved outstanding results for PwC and its clients.

This year's Ottawa CEO Award winners include:

  • Tanya Hill-Lariviere, Winner — People Category: A manager in PwC's Corporate Tax Services group, Tanya oversaw the completion of personal tax returns for PwC clients, coaching staff through compliance issues and often redistributing assignments to help staff achieve work/life flexibility. .
  • Brandon Bowes, Winner — Client Category: As part of PwC's Audit and Assurance Group, Brandon managed a field staff team to complete a quality client audit under tight timelines, enabling the client to provide the updated financial statements to a potential customer.
  • PwC Ottawa Office Internal Firm Services team, Winner — Team Category: The team of 18 plays a substantive role in supporting PwC's Ottawa office staff and clients with a range of activities, from typing client financial statements to managing IT services, often sharing workloads to help one another achieve work/life flexibility.

Throughout the year, staff and partners in PwC's Ottawa office are encouraged to submit nominations for the award in each of the three categories. This year's Ottawa award recipients were selected from a list of nominees by a regional nomination committee and recognized during a local celebration event.

"The CEO Award recognizes and rewards our PwC individuals and teams who go that extra mile to create business impact and live our firm values of leadership, excellence and teamwork," says Roxanne Anderson, PwC Ottawa Office Managing Partner. "Particularly in this challenging economy, we believe it's important to take the time to recognize those who achieve great results, celebrate their successes and thank our staff for a job well done. We are proud to honour this exceptional group of PwC people who are truly role models for helping make PwC the distinctive professional services firm."

Recipients of the local office CEO Awards are also eligible to receive the National CEO Award, which honours two PwC Canada staff members and one team who go above and beyond to provide a distinctive experience to PwC's people and clients. The national winners were announced in a special ceremony on September 14, 2009 and received a monetary prize of up to CDN$25,000.
