Faced with media coverage of corporate failures, job losses and persistent turbulent markets, investors increasingly need help understanding the markets and their investment portfolios. At the same time, lower-than-expected returns are testing investors' trust in their financial advisors and investment managers.
With these challenges in mind, PwC Canada conducted a survey with Leger Marketing of 1,680 Canadians to gauge the level of investor confidence in the mutual fund industry. The survey results were subsequently shared with mutual fund industry CEOs. Our discussions revealed the following key themes:
