Post-event summary report

For the past four years, PwC’s Energy Visions business forum has brought together globally respected industry analysts to provide context on issues affecting the Canadian energy sector. At this year's forum, the guest speakers debated on the topic: Is Canada becoming an energy superpower?

The forum was attended by more than 200 energy C-suite executives. To take advantage of this unique gathering, PwC conducted an audience poll to gain insight into what industry players thought on topics related to the oil and gas industry.

The questions included:

  1. Do you think Canada has the potential to become an energy superpower?
  2. Do you think that Canada should have a national oil company again?
  3. Do you think the Keystone XL pipeline will be approved before October 2013?
  4. If Canada exports LNG, do you think that domestic natural gas prices will improve by a meaningful amount?
  5. Do you think the US will beat Canada to the LNG export market?
  6. Do you think the Canadian government should exert more influence to ensure critical pipelines are approved?
