For the first time in our survey’s history, talent-related challenges rose to the top (26%) of biggest challenges that faced CEOs last year, edging out both revenue generation and funding concerns. While the number of companies reporting 5% or less in voluntary turnover fell slightly (66%, down from 69%), the number reporting more than 20% voluntary turnover doubled (8%, up from 4%).
Recruiting talent is a key issue. Forty-eight percent of CEOs cited recruiting as the biggest talent management issue they face (up from 40%). Nearly two-thirds (62%) told us that over the past two years it’s become harder to find the programmers and technical personnel they need.
