PwC Edmonton staff join Alberta Premier Alison Redford to volunteer at Edmonton’s food bank

PwC is committed to responsible business practices that create positive change in our communities. Staff in our Edmonton office engaged with the community at a local fundraiser for Edmonton’s Food Bank. Jennifer Pede, Sean Fleming, Christian Lenkenhoff, Nina Jimenez, Kathryn Lowry and Kira Gregson rolled pennies for half a day as part of the Pennies for People fundraising campaign.

A fundraiser that makes cents
The fundraiser focuses on investing in the future through a thing of the past. The goal is to provide a simple and convenient way to turn the soon to be obsolete pennies into nutritious meals for people in need. Please visit the Edmonton Food Back website for more information.

“It was a rewarding way to spend the morning as we had the opportunity to meet the Premier, and the Edmonton Food Bank staff to learn more about the important work they do. Together we rolled almost $240 in pennies, which will help the Food Bank support those in need,” said Kira Gregson, Consulting & Deals Senior Associate.
