National Leader, Private Company Services
Saul Plener is the National Leader for PwC’s Private Company Services practice in Canada. He previously served as the firm’s National Managing Partner for Strategy and Operations and prior to that, was PwC’s Canadian Tax Services leader, specializing in international transfer pricing.
As a client service partner, Saul has extensive experience working with multinational clients to plan and implement tax-efficient transfer pricing strategies. This includes developing transfer pricing documentation for use in the event of an audit by federal and provincial tax authorities.
Saul was a member of the CICA Tax Policy Committee, which is comprised of senior tax professionals with some of Canada’s leading tax organizations and professional services firms. Saul was actively involved with the CICA and the UFE program for more than 20 years, and has served as a CICA Board of Evaluators member from 2002 to 2005 and as Board chairman from 2007 to 2008. Before joining PwC, he practiced in the CRA’s large case audit division, where he was responsible for reviewing domestic and international transactions.
Saul has a Bachelor of Business Administration from York University in Toronto. He is a CPA and in 2009 was elected as a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario for his achievements and leadership contributions to the community and the profession.
