At PwC we’re all different, but we’re all PwC Professionals

Recruiting isn’t a one-dimensional process here. It’s not just about your grades or how much volunteer work you’ve done. We look for a combination of attributes that we know are good indicators for your success – both now and in the future. Selecting people with these attributes ensures we provide distinctive experiences to our clients and our people.

Everyone who’s part of a PwC team needs to demonstrate key skills and capabilities that support us in delivering on our business strategy and help create value for our people, clients and communities every day. These skills and capabilities make up what we call ‘The PwC Professional.’

How will you benefit from becoming a PwC Professional? It’s all about your development. You get a transparent picture of what it takes to be successful with us and, through regular real-time feedback, you’ll be able to achieve your full potential. More than just smart, you’ll become courageous and curious professionals.

The PwC Professional will not only ensure your success at PwC, but wherever your career, or life, takes you.

The PwC Professional: 5 Dimensions

The PwC Professional focusses on five dimensions: whole leadership, business acumen, technical capabilities, global acumen and relationships. We use this framework to hire, develop and grow all our people, at all levels and in all areas of the firm.

As you get ready to meet us, either at a networking event, interview or PwC Professional Talent Centre, use this framework to help you prepare:

Whole leadership
You lead yourself and are an authentic, passionate and inclusive leader
who inspires others

  • Do you learn from your opportunities and take time to develop your personal approach to work?
  • Do you lead others to be the best they can be, whether you’re part of a team or leading one?
  • Do you act with integrity and uphold professional standards at all times?

Business acumen
You have business knowledge and awareness, a willingness to learn about new business issues, and bring innovation, insight and fresh thinking to the table

  • How do you keep up-to-date with business and industry trends?
  • Do you consider all facts and think broadly about data when making recommendations?
  • Do you see opportunities within changing business environments that can add value?

Technical capabilities
You love making a difference wherever you can, applying your developing technical abilities

  • Do you maintain professional standards and always produce high-quality work?
  • How do you build and maintain your technical expertise and knowledge?
  • Do you share your knowledge to deliver insights with others?

Global acumen
Your mindset is global, going beyond cultural or geographic borders in a continually changing world

  • Do you consider a broad range of perspectives in your thinking?
  • Do you embrace and see opportunity in change?
  • Can you bring fresh insights to our clients and PwC?

Relationships
You actively build meaningful relationships

  • Do you communicate with confidence?
  • Do you build and maintain strong and authentic relationships within your network
  • Do you develop new relationships outside of your network?

We know that you’ll have different levels of experience depending on your academic studies, extra-curricular activities, volunteer work, hobbies, or any part-time or full-time work experience you may have. We’ll help you accelerate these skills and capabilities as you grow with us. Regular feedback is a big part of the PwC Professional, so you’ll always know how you’re doing. In the meantime, we’ll be looking for you to give us examples of how you’ve demonstrated the five dimensions of The PwC Professional.

Start preparing for your interview well in advance and really think about how you can demonstrate each of the five PwC Professional dimensions. Whatever the role, level, or expertise you bring to PwC, we look for people who love making a difference, wherever—and whenever—they can. Good luck.
