Status of File as at October 25, 2010

All of the assets of the three bankrupt companies have been sold and the leased premises vacated. The secured creditor will incur a shortfall on its loans to each of the three bankrupt companies based on estimated net realization. As a result, it is anticipated that there will be no funds available for distribution to any unsecured creditors.

All customers who had made payments on account of ordered goods that were not on the premises at the date of the bankruptcies represent unsecured claims in the bankruptcies. Should these customers wish to file a claim against any of the three bankrupt companies, a blank proof of claim form can be found under the “Bankruptcy Documents” tab.

Status of File as at August 30, 2010

A proof of claim package and notice of the first meeting of creditors was sent to all known creditors of the Bedroom Depot on August 30, 2010. The first meeting of creditors will be held on September 9, 2010 at the Ciociaro Club, 2nd Floor Auditorium, 3745 North Talbot Road, Oldcastle, Ontario at the following times:

  • 1391518 Ontario Limited (located in Alberta) 10:00 a.m.
  • 1690182 Ontario Limited (located in Nova Scotia) 10:30 a.m.
  • 2162780 Ontario Limited (located in Ontario) 11:00 a.m.

The Trustee will prepare and present it’s Report to the First Meeting of Creditors on Preliminary Administration for those creditors in attendance. A copy will be posted to the website after the meeting. All documents are posted on the page titled “Bankruptcy Documents”.

Status of File as at August 27, 2010

On August 26, 2010, the Bedroom Depot filed an Assignment and PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. was appointed as trustee of the estate of the bankrupt by the Official Receiver, subject to the affirmation by the creditors of the trustee’s appointment or substitution of another trustee by the creditors. The creditors’ meetings will be held in early September 2010.
