It seems like yesterday when I was in your shoes, keen to learn and experience everything. When I joined the firm it was because of the people and the experience PwC had to offer. In particular, I was looking to obtain my CA and complete an international secondment. Over the years, I was seconded to Melbourne and Auckland. I've been fortunate to obtain challenging assignments and work with great people.
PwC has always focused on developing people through experiential learning and coaching. The firm also looks to make a difference in the community at large, through the PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada Foundation, which gets people in our office involved with various charitable causes. PwC offers a great environment for you to achieve professional and personal growth and the opportunity for you to make a difference. I hope that you'll join our team.
Sincerely,

Roxanne Anderson
Managing Partner, PwC Ottawa
Founded in 1855, Ottawa is located on the banks of the Ottawa, Rideau and Gatineau Rivers. The city offers a blend of urban and rural lifestyles, old and new neighbourhoods, culture and heritage, business and government. Ottawa also has a high standard of living reflected in a multitude of accessible services, vibrant entertainment, exciting recreational activities, and thriving businesses. The city offers many attractions, such as world-class concerts, winter festivals and sports teams. Ottawa has been described as one of the most beautiful capitals in the world. Both within and around the urban centre of the region are spectacular parks and wilderness areas. The typical drive to work is less than 30 minutes. Today, over 175 staff and partners work for PwC Ottawa. Of our partner population, nearly 50 per cent are women.
Each year, we offer secondment opportunities for PwC employees. We recently sent staff to San Jose and Tampa Bay and we are excited to be the host office for an employee from the Netherlands.
Our office is easily accessible by public transit whether you live on the Ontario or Quebec side. Moreover, you can easily bike or walk to work via the numerous urban bike trails or walking paths.
We are recruiting for summer students, co-ops and associates in our Audit and Assurance Group as well as our Tax Group.

We believe that we have a responsibility to contribute to the communities in which we live and work, and to share our skills, expertise and resources with the charitable sector. In 2010-2011, our office volunteered more than 308 hours to support local charities. We also encourage everyone in the Ottawa office to participate in our Team Volunteering activities with local not-for-profit organizations and to take part in our annual PwC Green Week. A sample of some of the volunteering activities we've participated in include:
While we work hard, a position at PwC Ottawa isn't just a job. With Rookie Night, you're introduced to people on your team, and have a chance to meet people from other service areas. Our Quarterly Town Hall Meetings are a great way to connect with colleagues and you can greet the seasons with our Summer Celebrations and Holiday Dinner.
Our wellness activities will keep your health at the forefront. We regularly invite speakers to discuss topics on things like healthy living. You can also participate in activities such as walking, yoga and skating. For sports enthusiasts, we have several PwC teams, such as hockey and volleyball to keep you fit. Most importantly, there's something for everyone at PwC. We celebrate volunteers, those with long service, and birthdays. We also distribute awards to recognize special achievements and efforts.
PwC's In-House Uniform Final Examination (UFE) Preparation Program is designed to support you during the entire examination process. Led by professional instructors and markers from the PASS program, our extensive program includes 36 days of training and education for the three CA designation examinations: Core Knowledge Examination (CKE), School of Accountancy (SOA) and UFE.
You'll also be provided with all UFE materials and related exam fees. Our UFE Preparation Program includes ten weeks of paid and nine weeks of unpaid leave to give you time to study and write your exams. You'll also be assigned a recent successful UFE writer, who'll provide you with one-on-one guidance and support.
We are looking for Co-Op Students and Associates to join our Audit and Assurance Practice and Tax Practice.
